My deadbolt on my outside quit working. The locksmith asked if he should bring anew deadbolt and I said yes! He replaced the deadbolt in approximately 15 minutes. When I asked how much he said $400.00 dollars. I balked at that so he said "I'll give you the senior rate" $292.31! I dropped my jaw and paid him. I asked for a receipt. He said it would come electronically. All I got was a page that just had the total cost on it. When I asked for a breakdown between parts and labor. What I got back was an email that said parts-$80.00; labor $213.37! Over $200.00 for 15 minutes work? None of the receipts came from Modesto Lock and Key. Standard cost of standard deadbolts range from $43.00 to $12.95. Labor could cost up to&100.00. This info came from Google. Resolution Sought Refund me money that I'm due! Take a closer look at the locksmith, named "J"? Who did the 15 minutes of work.
