I was already pre approved for a $58,000 car loan at a 3.74 interest through my bank KEMBA Financial Credit Union which was a great rate for me. I was in agreement where I would purchase a new car driving all the way from Columbus. Monroeville Dodge Ram Dealership was in contact with my bank where my bank agreed to send them a overnight check on June 24 so the check should be there Saturday morning June 25th. (I was also required to put a $1000 deposit to hold the car) which was strange being that my bank already agreed to send the check out and gave them the confirmation information. Me and my fiancé drove 3 hrs there to stay overnight so we could drive back June 25th 2022. However on the 25th something happened with FedEx that mail was delayed and the check wouldn't be there until the following Monday. Since we were there already there I went to the dealership to talk to a manager, a GMS to see if they would allow me to still take the car. The GMS was a very rude guy who refused to even compromise or call his boss who he claims didn't want to be bothered. Fast forward about 15 hard inquiries showed up on my credit report that I never authorized that are tied to this dealership. When I called and spoke to the GMS he was very rude and claimed that I came in the dealership and signed authorization to have my credit ran which I never did and told him he couldn't show me proof than he claimed I did it online and he would email me proof but hasn't. Resolution Sought For them to send letters of deletions to the credit bureaus and me to have those unauthorized credit inquiries deleted ASAP. And to give a complimentary gas card since we had to drive there and back twice.

Mr. Dumas was approved at his credit union. His credit union representative told him the check from the credit union would arrive at the dealership on Friday, June 24th. The customer drove from Columbus to be at the dealership on June 24th. Unfortunately, the check did not arrive. It is not our policy to deliver a car to a customer without payment, so the customer stayed overnight with the expectation the check would arrive Saturday, June 25th. The check did not arrive on Saturday either. We reached out to the credit union representative and were informed that the check was not mailed out until late Friday and the check would not arrive until Monday, June 27th. We gave the customer the option to try to finance the vehicle through one of our dealership lenders. The customer filled out an online application for us to proceed. We were not able to secure the loan. So the customer asked if we could try with his girlfriend as a co-signer. She also filled out an online application. We were not able to get the loan approved through any of our lenders. We informed the customer. The customer wanted us to deliver him the car with a verbal promise from the credit union representative that the check would arrive, and we did speak with the credit union representative on Saturday, June 25th.This is how we found out the check was not mailed out until late Friday, June 25th. Again, not the dealership's policy to deliver a vehicle without payment. The customer was upset that he was not able to leave with the vehicle and stated he wanted to cancel the purchase. The customer called back a couple hours later and stated he did not want to cancel the purchase, he would drive out on Monday, June 27th to pick up the vehicle after the check arrived. This is ultimately what happened. As far as the customer not giving us permission to submit his application to our lenders...Mr. Dumas filled out the credit application on our web site. This is the only way that we would be able to obtain his social security number, employment and income information. I did email Mr. Dumas showing the online submission of his credit application. As far as the customer wanting a gas card for having to drive back out to the dealership a second time...I suggest that he reach out to his credit union representative that told him the check would arrive on Friday, June 24th. I, personally, do not understand why the customer would drive to the dealership without verifying the check had arrived.

Customer Rebuttal

I never approved and/not signed no online application. I was only asked if my girlfriend wanted to try and get approved because I stressed the point not to have my credit pulled. The General manager of sales never sent me a email confirmation which is bogus. I only spoke to him once when I visited the dealership and never sat down and signed any papers with him. Records will show that no online signature with my online signature or consent was ever signed by me electronically or on paper. If this is true as the GMS states I would ask that the dealership provide proof to the Consumer Alliance and or BBB showing such. Whoever ran my credit only did in the hopes that they could get a kickback from their lenders as is the common practice for dealerships. I stressed the fact that I did not want to go through any other lenders other than my bank, and that’s why my loan officer at KEMBA Financial Credit union work diligently to have the process did through KEMBA.
