Alex Tews came out to my elderly mothers home on July 7, 2022, she had no water since it had to be turned off due to a leak. Alex charged her 1374.09 before doing any work, she had to put it on a credit card. I feel that this man took extreme advantage of my mother. He did not give her a written estimate and when I went to check his work he did nothing but take a piece of wood off her ceiling in the basement and damaged it and it also is not where it was leaking. He replaced one short hose from under kitchen sink straight down to basement and hooked into water line. I have photos. Was suppose to send receipt which she never got and never responded to any of my husbands messages that he left to talk with this guy. This amount he charged her for the work is excessive and taking advantage of the elderly. My mothers name is Ms. L. King and lives on Blue Lake Rd, Kalkaska, Mi. Resolution Sought Pay her back some of the money, every one I have spoken with agrees that it never should have been more than 500.00 max and even that is very high for what was actually done.

Sorry you feel this way, as we do not take advantage of our customers. Ms. King approved and signed a estimate before any work was done, also she signed for the work after Alex was done. We also keep all electronic signatures on file. We try to be a paperless company as much as we can, Ms. King could have had a copy mailed to her if asked. She still can have them mailed if she would like. Also you are more than welcome to come and be present with your mother for jobs. No refunds will be given.

I am certainly not happy with the response, or satisfied with this company. My husband made the appointment, then the company changed it and came at a time when he was back to work ( over the road trucker) so he was not in town. My husband Brian had already looked at it so knew what needed to be done but did not have the time to fix it himself. Also they had agreed to call him when they arrived before doing anything which they did not do. The previous owners always did. Had they done that and given the price he would have called elsewhere. Brian also called 4 times and left messages to talk to them and they bever returned his calls. They are taking advantage of the elderly, they will sign anything put in front of them when they really do not understand what all they are doing and just want their water turned on after days of having none, which is why they were suppose to call Brian like they had agreed to do. I live 40 miles away and cannot be there all the time and know nothing about plumbing which is why my husband was taking care if it. My mother deserves some money back and they already told her they were going to send a receipt so why should she have to call to request one?

I truly don't know how to respond to the person. We most certainly did not take advantage of her mother. If her husband could do it cheaper, I am sorry he could not do it. We are a premium plumbing company and go above and beyond for our customers.
