For the 14 months I've been here, I paid my water bill on time from $40.00 to $45.00 pretty much the same. I got a notice in mail water usage was high. An d how . $185.00. I called the water company and they sent somebody out. The water meter was moving when water was off. So I checked under the house all pipes are dry nothing leaking around them on the ground, no leaks under sink or tub, even I had my water heater removed and capped off, thought it could be that. Then I suggested to the man since the meter was still moving when water was turned off at the street that it could be the water meter, so he came out and took the meter out, sealed up some pipes. I then turned the house water on and off again to get air out of the pipes, and I checked the meter and it stopped moving, so the problem was solved by repair of the meter. The water company sent me another bill for a total of $420 dollars now. They still say I had a leak in my house. Because after the repair was done the meter was still moving and their technician didn't wait long enough because it did stop but he left before it did. I repeatedly told them their man solved the issue and the meter shows I used 7 cu ft of water yesterday. They are antagonistic a nd pulling my chain and say I had a leak. I did have some small repairs but just took out enough water to wash your hands, not to fill a swimming pool. They refuse to settle the bill until I pay for water I didn't even use. Resolution Sought They should adjust this bill to reflect my usual water usage. I actually had a policeman come out and he says they've been charging me way too much. He says he only pays $20 or $25 and according to my calculations I probably use less than 300 cu ft a month. I think they need to go back and reimburse me or at least send me an accurate bill. I think one of my neighbors might have left my water on one night outside. But it was only a kiddie pool worth of water. 3 stars for fixing the meter.
