Do Not Use

I would never ever recommend Neighborhood law office to anyone for any reason. For amount that was paid ($3,597) services were not at all adequate for what my case required. My first experience with Jim in a consultation was purely to lure an unsuspecting and naive client into his web. He makes a lot of promises and begins the process of grooming you to believe they actually care for your case. Next I met with an older woman who sits at the front desk, unsure of her experience in such matters or her credentials if any. She will instruct you to sign all of your agreements with Neighborhood law office, which will later be held against you. All the while she'll delve into her own experiences with multiple divorces, baby daddy problems and issues with kids and how to dig up dirt on your soon to be ex , its called "investigation" she says. In some weird way of assuring a common bond, very uncomfortable I must say while trying to decipher important legal documents. Be careful, the agreements are lame enough for lay person to believe they understand and general enough that they can hide behind if any discord should occur. I gave the office all copies of correspondence between myself and other party, including mail and email or phone conversation. Promises of guidance through process were given by said office. I am a nurse with a college degree, but I was very upfront with my lack of knowledge for the process of a divorce as it is required by law. By the way, after initial consult, you will never see or speak with a lawyer. All information from that point forward was given by office paralegals. The information given, gravely mislead myself as a client. When confronted repeatedly with issues of "misunderstandings" I was greeted with EXTREME attitude, rudeness and verbal aggression implying my own stupidity. In one meeting with Jim (I finally called after feeling the need to retain legal representation) I had to ask him to please lower his voice and speak to me in a professional manner. Hundreds and thousands were spent for minimal paperwork that was not even done to satisfaction. I was left to fumble for information and guidance. When advice was given it always conflicted between what Jim said and what was told to me by paralegals. I left every time with more questions than I had answers. Not to mention my case was suffering. With the amount I had already given Neighborhood law office, legal representation could of been obtained for entire process else where. Instead I had to do all the leg work with the court and filing (which requires out of pocket expenses as well). For this, services rendered were no where near appropriately priced. I intended to use them as a cost effective alternative, which was not the case. They instructed spiteful behavior of myself which shocked me. In my belief a case of this matter deserves care and finesse. Neighborhood law office retains none of these traits. I'm sure Jim will respond in a manner to scorn and disgrace myself. I can only say: Yes, I may not understand law to the degree needed for this to work as a professional relationship, but I was very up front with my lack of knowledge in this matter. If you ever care to step on my floor in front of physicians and families with people in your care, I invite you to do so, lets see how many lives you save. You have no right to treat people in the manner you do. Neighborhood law office is extremely unprofessional and will unfortunately continue to prey on people like myself. Shame on you.
