Customer Complaint

New Destiny Van Lines was hired to move me from Houston ,Texas to Ocala,Fl March/ April 2022. After first pick- up I was told my items were in their warehouse in when returning to load remainder of items. I was charged around 6,555 supposedly for total move but when movers returned for second pick-up I was charged an additional 8,286. I was never given an inventory sheet for second pick-up and the inventory sheets from first pickup practically unreadable. Upon arrival to Ocala ,Fl no delivery sheets provided. Part items placed in my storage and some teams delivered the next day. I inquired about a scooter when truck arrived and was only told Oh it is in one of the boxes. Which one? Unable to say. That along with about 500 of my items disappeared. Never arrived in Ocala. Company assumes no liability over $8,000 in items missing and $ 8,000 in non delivery of items. Total loss about 16,000. Resolution Sought Reimburse me for lost,/ stolen items and fir overcharge. Already paid 6,555 which I was told was total charge

New Destiny Van Lines did not address my complaint at all! They moved my itmes from Houston to Dallas, and there were 2 pickups from my residence. They never gave me an inventory sheet for the second pick up. They put the first truckload in their warehouse in Dallas and they came back 2 weeks later to finish the job. Many items are missing from the first truckload to their warehouse and about 90% of my items are missing from second move. Where are they?! There was no way I could verify everything and I never received a response when I asked about the location of my new scooter. I have nothing to prove except them taking $8,000 from my credit card. Please respond to the following: Where are my missing items that you stored in your warehouse? Where are my missing items that were loaded during the second pick up? Why didn't I get an inventory sheet? When will the missing items be delivered? If those items can't be delivered by the company, they need to pay me in full for all the missing items. They are basically stolen. I submitted a full list of all the missing items and I was brushed off. I will also be reporting this issue to FMCSA.

Company Final Response

Company states; First and foremost we would like to apologize for any inconvenience Ms. Sannoh feels that we have caused. Ms. Sannoh hired ll Coast Moving Group to pick up an estimated 1000cf for her move. All Coast Moving Group contracted New Destiny Van Lines to service Ms. Sannoh move. On 3/26/22, upon arriving to Ms. Sannoh's house it was determined that, that there was more than the estimated 1000cf. Per our contractual agreement New Destiny picked up 1700cf of space, since this was all the space that we had available on our truck. Ms. Sannoh hired New Destiny directly to pick up the remaining 1500cf of space. On 4/6/22 New Destiny Van Lines arranged for a semi to load directly from the home. On 4/10/22 the driver delivered the second pick up belongings to her storage unit. Upon completing delivery Ms. Sannoh signed that al items have been accounted for. Ms. Sannoh was provided copies of inventories both from pick up and a copy from delivery. However, Ms. Sannoh filed a claim with our claims dept. Once all documents were reviewed her claim was denied in compliance with all DOT/FMSCA regulations.
