Hired Cody (contractor) to install 3 interior doors. Requested a $100 deposit to begin work that i provided. I purchased door slab and materials in the amount of $80. Cody came to my house dec 2 to begin work. Installed one door and i was unhappy with work done. Door was crooked and had gaps i Requested it be fixed and he denied and demanded payment for botched job stating that i purchased wrong materials which was untrue. I mentioned i would buy materials he suggested for job to be done properly and he became upset and demanded i pay for work i was unhappy and quit job. I Requested my $100 deposit and $80 payment for materials that he damaged and he declined and blocked me from contacting him. Now i have to hire another company to install doors and lost $180 that i would like to be reimbursed for considering he quit and refused to repair his botched job. Resolution Sought I desire to be reimbursed the $100 deposit and $80 price of materials he damaged and cant be used.

We value our customers' satisfaction, and I want to assure you that we take your feedback seriously. Upon reviewing the details you provided, it seems there is a miscommunication regarding the events that transpired during the installation process. Allow me to provide some clarification based on Cody's account. Before work could even commence on this project, the client rescheduled twice (lack of proper materials was mentioned) and the contractor, Cody, agreed to reschedule for the next Saturday to accommodate the client as much as possible. Cody informed the client promptly about the incorrect choice of materials, emphasizing the need to proceed with the recommended materials for a proper installation. The exact final result was what the client was warned would happen. Despite this, the client expressed a desire to continue with the project using the initially purchased materials, which unfortunately led to complications in the installation process. Cody proceeded as per the client’s request but was later asked to stop work prior to completion. The client was quoted for a project that was specific to the installation of the correct client supplied materials. It is the responsibility of the client to have the correct materials ready on their scheduled day when they opt to go with “client provided” materials. The materials he requested Cody use tripled the labor time that the client was quoted for. The client continued to state he wanted everything to proceed forward. The client was to have all materials ready to be installed that day and he was to pay his remaining balance of $420, which the contractor had opted not to pursue. In light of the circumstances, the contractor is willing to retain the $100 deposit to compensate for the time invested and expenses incurred during the initial stages of the project. However, he is not pursuing any further charges for the installation process that did not reach completion. Regarding the $80 spent on materials, the contractor believes that the responsibility for purchasing the incorrect items rests with the client, and as such, we are unable to refund this amount. We understand the frustration caused by the situation, and we are committed to finding an amicable resolution. To that end, we propose the following compromise: 1. The company will retain the $100 deposit as compensation for the time and effort invested by our contractor. 2. While we are unable to refund the $80 for the materials, we remain open to discussing a resolution that takes into account both parties' perspectives. If you find these terms acceptable, please let us know, and we will do our best to address this matter to your satisfaction. We value your business and appreciate your understanding. The claims of this company are untrue. I purchased a new door, hinges, and frame to fit opening. It wasn't until the job was finished and i was completely dissatisfied that he mentioned i purchased wrong materials. He never mentioned how door would be crooked with materials i purchased or i wouldn't proceed with job. Why would i insist on a job being done knowing i wouldn't be happy with results. I even offered to purchase the materials he suggested for the job to be properly done in which he became angry and demanded payment on crooked door installation. Nobody would agree for a contractor to proceed with a job knowing they would be unhappy with results. This contractor never mentioned i would have a crooked door with materials i purchased or i wouldn't have him proceed with job. This company is a scam and do not care about customer satisfaction which is why they blocked me from messages and refuse to fix damages. I want refunded for damages.
