Company Response

Company states; The vehicle was dropped off for repairs 3/18/24. We do not leave cars overnight for estimates only. When a customer asks for an estimate of repairs, we do it right and then, since it only takes a few minutes to do an estimate. When Miranda Maxwell called the shop I asked her if she needed an estimate, she said she was looking for a shop to repair her car. Then she explained to me she was in a collision, and she had a claim with State Farm. I I told her that if she was ready to leave the car to get fixed then we were able to do that, and that I was going to get in touch with State Farm to see if they already had an estimate of repairs, or if they needed me to send my estimate, which I did. State Farm reviewed and approved my estimate for $3535.80, and sent the payment to her. As soon as the insurance takes responsibility for damages we start the repairs, so the car gets fixed in a timely manner. So we started with body work. Three days later after she dropped off the car, she came and took the car unfinish, saying she didn't approve any repairs. On 4/03/24 Entreprise Rentals called me for an update on the repairs, and if we had an estimated time when the repairs were going to be done. Again if all she wanted was an estimate. it would only take a few minutes to do that. And she didn't have to get a rental for an estimate. Cordially, Oak Valley Autobody

When the car was dropped off we were told that it would take awhile to get the estimate done and have everything sent to the insurance company. We had called more than once to get the status of the car and the estimate. Luz Lara then text us with no warning that they would begin working on the car. When I called to ask her to please not touch my car she began stating how it was too late they had finished the car and I could get it back when I showed up with the insurance money. Being stuck at work at the time, I wasn’t able to show up until they opened at 8 am the next morning. The car was not finished like she said and we asked for them to immediately stop repairs since we didn’t authorize anyone to touch the car no paperwork was signed. Then the car was held. They parked vehicles in front of the car and took the keys saying they were owed 1750$ or they wouldn’t release the car. The insurance company hadn’t even issued any payments at the time. We paid out of pocket for the “repair job”. They also charged several charges they shouldn’t have. They charged for the entire labor on an unfinished job and for parts that were never put on the car. Nothing was ever signed, this is a scam

Company Final Response

She called & made an appointment to get her vehicle fixed not for an estimate. After she dropped it off I called ins. co to confirm financial responsibility. ins. co asked me to do an estimate of repairs I did & that's when the repairs started with teardown. It takes about 24-48 hrs for the ins. co to review it & get back with the shop, in the meantime we are already working on the vehicle because it was dropped for repairs. When she showed up to take the car body work was done already it was ready for paint. I never said the car was finished, as she stated I said it was almost done. The car was not held, it was in process therefore it was inside the shop, and cars in front of it. She was not charged for the entire labor and parts as she stated, since we did not replace any parts per her request. She was only charged for what was done. Ins. co reviewed the shop's estimate, and approved total repairs for $3538.80 that was paid to customer. Payment was issued on 3/25. If we were to charge extra charges State Farm would have denied any charges. If she had no intention of fixing her car why did Enterprise call two weeks after she took her car to check on repairs because she had the ren
