We had reserved a room at the lodge months in advance. Once we checked in we were told that we were up graded to a cottage C63. When we walked in we saw a huge house. But it was a shared area with bedrooms with locks. This would have been great if we were with family. However it was just my family. When we found our room there was NO AC or Windows in our bedroom as well as no lock for the outside of the room. So when we left for the day anyone can walk into our room that rented other rooms in the cottage we were staying in. When we called the front desk we explained that the lock was broken and that the room was a fire hazard due to there not being a second exit or Windows. The Manger told is we were wrong and that she would send someone over to show us how to use the lock. Once maintenance came they explained that we were correct that the lock could not be fixed and it was broken. They also stated that they were shocked that other rooms were rented out to people we didnt know. I said we were not staying because we didn't feel safe. The Manger said there were no more rooms available. So when we went to check out and get our money back, magically there was a room. We were told that someone didn't check in so we could have that room. However their website did show open rooms. Resolution Sought I would like the business to have a fire Marshall come and check out C63 and fix it so that it is safe. Or they not use that room. The other rooms in that cottage all had windows and working locks for the outside. I would also like for that Manger to get some training on how to handle customers in a professional manner. Or be fired. I would also like to update on the outcome e.

Company states; I recently received an issue that occurred July 13th. Consumer checked into RM SC63 at 3:02pm by Tracy. It looks like there were issues with that room that Leslee (Supervisor) sent Maintenance down to take a look. At that point they realized they couldn't shut the door that led to other rooms and door needed replaced. So Leslee checked and thankfully a reservation cancelled and she moved guest to W202 around 6:26pm. Leslee thought that everything was ok and she also checked with Maintenance about repairs. Due to recent renovations we decided to take reservations differently for that specific chalet. Once again my apologies and we look forward to your next visit. Sincerely, Front Desk Manager
