Company Response

We started Ms. Miller's job on April 19, and finished on April 22, 2021. She was very happy with the work on the day of completion, and she paid us in full. We charged her $1,200.00. We repaired her front porch with the materials she had purchased. She had dry-rotted boards underneath, and wanted Trex board instead of wood. As any contractor can tell you the Trex decking board is plastic and it's has some give. After a few days she called and said the boards seemed like they were moving, and asked if we would come back out and insert more support. Brad our lead, explained that Trex board is like a floating floor and it feels very different than hardwood. But, we did as she asked at our cost. (She is over 1 hour away.) 6 weeks later we received a call from her sister asking why the flashing wasn't fixed. We never installed any flashing. Had no clue what she was talking about. Again, at Ms. Miller's request, we sent our guys back out at our cost to see what she was describing. In the conversation with our lead guy Brad, Ms. Miller stated that she has had two other companies work on the porch since we completed the job. Whoever she had come out after us to work on her porch butchered our work, they added flashing and put holes in material that cost $77 a piece. We have photos of the completed job, and what she is asking is ridiculous. She now wants us to redo the entire porch at our cost, and we declined. She was told by our Lead that these damages were not done by us. She has had too many hands working on that porch after we completed her job. And now, because they damaged some areas of her porch, she's trying to get her whole porch redone. We feel this complaint is unwarranted and are confident that if she wishes to pursue this in court we will counter-sue for any legal fees and our additional time & materials (materials we paid for and did not charge her a dime). We had nothing to do with the damages she is asking us to repair. Our photos will prove this.
