I was charged 295.00 for a smoking fee, When i first talked to them they showed me a photo of a pack of cigars, now three days later it's the housekeeper smelled a heavy odor of smoke. The story changed, to justify them not returning my $$. I feel like we were profiled . I am 51 yrs old and i know better, no smoking EVER took place inside that hotel only in the designated smoking area outside of the hotel . I do not reside in CT, i was visiting and this is how we were treated. after confronting them about it, they called the police and we were asked to leave the hotel. Could she have smelled smoke , maybe but that would mean that they watched him smoke outside and immediately went into the room , once we went out to run errands. but the policy doesn't state that you cannot smoke or that it cant be on your clothes, it states no smoking in the room. (which never happened) . If the odor was that bad why wasn't i called via telephone so that i could come back and smell what they say they smelled, why wasn't a supervisor called to verify what the housekeeper states she smelled. Why didn't the police officer who came to the room say that they could smell the odor as well. Its all BS and they will continue to take advantage of people. Resolution Sought I want a refund, i shouldn't have to pay for something that never happened. I can admit when I'm wrong but in this case that's not it. I feel like they must do this to make extra $ which isn't fair to their guests,
