I was Not Protected from Penland Automotive who was in full violation of FTC rules. * Unknown at time of purchase, Penland Automotive's Company Policy Is : All Cars On The Lot Are Sold As Is. (Penland response to a Better Business Bureau complaint) ? CONSUMER DECEPTION & FTC VIOLATION ~ Not One Car On The Lot Was POSTED Sold As Is. Nothing indicated their policy. My husband told finance employee, Joey, we would purchase the Buick Enclave IF they Replaced Both Headlights and Repaired the Starting Issue that aborted our test drive. Joey agreed. After all sell papers were signed ? CONSUMER DECEPTION Penland slid in 'Sold As Is' paperwork. ??Trusting Penland would keep their word, I signed the last papers. Repairs were put off for One Month while Penland tried to get an appointment with a mechanic to take care of agreed repairs. ??We believed Penland was honoring the agreement made. Penland created lies ~ all to his benefit.?CONSUMER DECEPTION. After that month Penland claimed a totally different agreement was made. Refusing to honor the agreement Joey made. Penland offered me a $1500 check for repairs. I knew that wouldn't cover the agreement. I Refused. Joey Bullied me into accepting $1500. giving me an ultimatum: Take the Check or Walk Away With NOTHING $1500 was better than NOTHING. I took the check, with a promise that I was not finished dealing with their deception assault. Resolution Sought Pay for the agreed condition of purchase. Minus 1,500.00 already paid. Correct Deceptive Practices.

At the time of sale we promised to repair one broken headlight and the misfire from a spark plug. We gave her the option of us doing the repair or giving her reimbursement. She chose reimbursement. We gave her $1500 which was actually enough to cover the cost of both headlights and the replacement of the spark plug. Nothing else was promised at the time of sale.
