I purchased a vehicle through pristine Auto sales from a grant program through the adult protection Services agency of Kentucky. I am disabled and handicapped so I was unable to test drive the vehicle before the grant money was released for the purchase of the vehicle. The vehicle was purchased on August 5th 2022 On Monday August 8th 2022 I took my vehicle in to have maintenance check up on the vehicle since I just purchased it. During the inspection we found that the brakes on the back of the car were metal to metal on the inside the front pads are 1 mm thick. According to the nhtsa vehicles should not be on the road or even be sold from a dealer with brake pads any thinner than 3mm.Also during inspection we found out that the sensors are defective therefore causing the airbag system to be disabled in the event of the accident at the airbag system will not work it is also against nhtsa for a vehicle to be sold with defective safety systems. To fix my vehicle is going to cost $670.92 This is just to fix the brakes and the rotors on the front and the back of the vehicle I have no idea how to fix the issue regarding the airbags as it has to be taken to the dealership to do that. Resolution Sought I would like to have them pay for the repairs of this vehicle to have it pass the NHTSA safety guidelines. This vehicle was purchased on a grant through the adult protection service of the state of Kentucky as I am disabled and handicapped I cannot pay vehicle repairs of this magnitude I live off of 841 a month of SSI The whole reason that the grant was to purchase a vehicle so I can get to and from my treatments with my physicians and I cannot drive this car safely.
