Design Windows and Doors ordered four pairs of custom French Doors for our home. The doors are pre-hung within manufactured frames and should fit tightly from the factory. The doors as manufactured within their frames by Provia are too small. There are large gaps in the center, top and sides of the doors. The doors, as manufactured, have a sill of 2 1/2 inches (California code for safety is no higher than 3/4 inch), creating a safety hazard for anyone going through them. In addition, the doors, as manufactured, sit 9 inches above the exterior floor. The California code is that doors should have a drop of more than 7 1/2 inches. This is a trip hazard for all who go through these doors. The installer DWD said that Provia should replace the doors. Provia refuses to do this. Resolution Sought Refund. Money paid to business: 33000.
