Customer Complaint

9/6/2023

I went to Pueblo Viejo who is called a Mexican restaurant on 9/1/2023. I work for the federal government and we got 2-3 hrs off because of Labor Day. I also a single mom and I don't often enjoy time for myself or by myself. An early release allowed me time to go to a seat down place to have a margarita and some chips and salsa followed by a meal. At least that was the idea. I arrived around 2:30pm. I was seated down and ordered a lime margarita. I expected to be served with chips and salsa as I was looking forward with any Mexican restaurant. To my surprise I waited and waited and nothing was offered to me, so I asked the server if they give chips and salsa. So, the server told me a story that they stop serving chips and salsa because people won't eat them and they were just throwing them, so they decided to start charging for them. She was like I bring you chips and salsa, but is extra. She was like do you still want them? I was like if I am going to get charged, no. You get them for free at all Mexican restaurants. So, I got my margarita and the idea of paying for chips and salsa kind of bothered me and I still wanted the Mexican experience. I was going to stand up and ask for my bill and leave. In the meantime they bring me chips and salsa. I thought end of story, everything is ok now. I was half way into the margarita when this rude guy approached me. He appeared to be the owner. He told me I was arrogant with my comment and asked me to leave without paying. Resolution Sought For the business to make adjustments. People go to a Mexican restaurant because of the whole experience and atmosphere. They don't want to be approached by rude people who can't take an innocent comment. This is the hospitality business. We don't live in a communist country in where people can't make a statement. We have hundreds of options to chose from and people should be happy and willing to earn your business. I believe I was not arrogant at all. I didn't deserved to be asked to leave.
