Wrong Item Shipped. No Refund
I am completely dissatisfied with Pure Costumes. I live overseas at a military facility and just purchased a costume in December from Pure Costumes. Unfortunately the company shipped me the WRONG item, even after I paid Priority shipping to get the item in time for an event I have. I immediately contacted the company by phone, internet, and email about the discrepancy. Pure Costumes claimed that it was their manufacturer that made a mistake and that they could no longer offer the item that I wanted, and said that they would update the website to reflect the change.After 5 days of speaking with them via email, their resolution was for me to keep the wrongly shipped costume and receive 20% discount. (This 20% barely covered my shipping expenses). I was not satisfied with this response, because even after the 20% discount applied, I could have still purchased this item for more than half the price through two different sources, so I declined and asked for my options on sending the item back for a full refund. They confirmed that I would indeed be able to do this and sent me an email with an RA number that is needed to make a return. Once you receive an RA number you are required to have the item in the mail within 5 days in order to still receive your refund. I then received a separate email stating that they could not send me a return fed ex label because my address is APO AP which is Armed Forced Pacific. They stated that they could only refund me my money if I paid for shipping! I am shocked. Why am I supposed to pay for shipping to send back an item that they incorrectly sent me? I will be out $90 for the costume + Shipping costs...I will still have NO costume, and have to wait at least two billing cycles to even get the refund for the $90 that I paid. Not to mention they will not reimburse my return shipping expenses. Lastly...they still have NOT updated their website to reflect that they no longer carry the item that I originally ordered! This is absurd!
