10/20/2023 Went to the car dealer to look at a vehicle I was interested in purchasing. The Cadillac XT5 Luxury vin 1GYKNFRS2KZ188031 CarFax ad and window sticker for $26,490. I have a copy of the listing. The 1st rep was Tristan. Monday the 23rd I received a text from Paulson saying Tristan was no longer with the dealer and he would be our sales rep. My wife wanted the car, so on Monday we contacted him to settle the deal. Upon receiving the break down of cost, there was a $3,500 charge for a "Coverage Bundle"? What? He told my wife that was included in the price. Which my wife understood in the cost of the car. No it wasn't. This is an add on by the dealer of $2,500 for a ceramic coating and $1,000 for a LoJack. We told them we don't want those and to knock it of the price. His reply was "I can't, we add this to all the cars we sell" . I asked why would you install LoJack on a car that has OnStar? Paulson said Most people don't want the OnStar cause it's too expensive. This is more than 10 of the car value! I told him this is fraud and to knock the add on's off the price. We would buy the car at the advertised price only. He hung up on us and Ed (manager?) called my wife back after she called to get the manager. This eventually lead to another stonewall. So, I saw the new CarFax ad yesterday 10/27/23. The new listing is $25,990. My wife said she would buy it for that price only. Ed turned her down. Deception and Fraud. Resolution Sought If they advertise a price, they must honor it. (Can't believe I had to say that!) No surprise add on's that you say are not optional to deduct. I received an email from Yan Chertok (General Manager) (Owner?) with a phone # that I called to get this issue resolved. That went nowhere. The person who answered the phone at first acted like she didn't know who Yan was. Than said she couldn't get us in contact with him. Nothing but runaround and deception at the dealership.
