Customer Complaint

On 1/30/24, MVP Studio/Nichelle Tucker contacted me to requesting photography services with the agreement that the payment will be invoiced at $55/hr a total of $440.00 (4 hour show, 4 hour edits) to be paid out by 2/15/24. A final product was edited and the footage obtained from the event was provided by to MVP Studio on 2/6/24 and was accepted by MVP Studio after 3 additional edit requests were made by the client, MVP expressed satisfaction with the final product. On 2/16/24, I contacted Nichelle Tucker to inquire about payment receipt and she indicated that she mistook the payment due date for June 2024. MVP Studio did not send the requested payment by the due date therefore a $25/day late fee was assessed 2/18/24. On 2/25/24, MVP Studio/Nichelle Tucker contacted me stating she would be sending a check in the mail for services against the original agreement, refusing to provide compensation for services rendered via the payment method indicated on the invoice. On 3/1/2024, Nichelle Tucker then contacted me to confirm alternate payment options and indicated that the funds will be paid via PayPal from Tia Ramey of MVP Studio. However, PayPal flagged the invoice request as fraudulent subsequently causing my account that was previously in good standing to be restricted and essentially shut down. MVP Studio has not been responsive when I inquired about alternative payment solutions. I feel that have been scammed by MVP Studio. Resolution Sought I would like the company to pay for services and late fees assessed as of today, 3/4/24.

Company Response

Thank you for the opportunity to submit a response. This vendor has been paid in full via the Paypal invoice that she sent to Ramey Marketing. I can send proof that the payment has been debited from our account and was paid in full as of March 1st. She is having trouble accessing her payment from Paypal. When I contacted the merchant, they said she needs to complete the proper steps to set her account up and link her payment. Her status is showing as unverified. She was hired to complete a job that took place on January 27th for a live concert series. I can send proof of the event. She was told that services completed are paid out on the 15th of the following month. She didn't send the first draft of her product until February. If she wanted to be paid February 15th, she would have had to complete the job she was contracted to do in January. The bill cycles run Jan 1-Jan 30. Since she delivered the work in February, she should have been paid on March 15th with the rest of the team. Her invoice was incorrectly dated, and came in on February 6th. I paid her invoice early, and within the 30 day window by completing the payment on March 1st even though my client was very unhappy with the product. She never finished the job, she didn't stick around to make revisions and stopped answering her phone. I don't feel as though I should have to pay for that but I did anyway and now she's demanding we pay her invoice again even though it's already been paid because she's having issues with her Paypal account. I am more than happy to send over all payment confirmation and proof from Paypal about what she needs to do to claim the payment that was sent to her when she sent the invoice.
