I had my car repoed on July 28, 2024. They told me when i called it was due to no insurance. Mind you. My insurance was active. So then I show them the proof that my insurance is active and they told me they wouldn't release my car until I made my payment. My payment was due on July 25th. I told them I get paid the 1st. I was told by "MA" that it would be fine being a few days late. From what I know I legally have a 10 day grace period. My car is 3 days past due and they refuse to release it unless I pay 745.00 to them up front. I advised I am a single mom and I am unable to make that payment. They are refusing to work with me and told me they can't do anything about it. Resolution Sought I would like them to refund me my 300.00 as when they towed the car. My insurance was active. So it was an illegal tow that I should not have to pay for.

This vehicle was repossessed 7-27-23, not 7-28-24 like the customer claims. The customer was only a few days behind on their payment, but they did not have active insurance and that is why they got sent out for repossession. We had previously sent out a right to cure fo rthe previous repossession nearly a month prior. The customer also did not have a valid phone number on file, nor did they keep in contact with us so we could ensure our interest was covered. The customer must keep full coverage insurance on the vehicle at all times for the duration of their finance contract. After we repossessed the vehicle the customer then proceeded to get insurance on the vehicle which the effective date was not until 7-28-23. The customer did NOT have active full coverage insurance on the vehicle. That is why it was repossessed. When the vehicle is repossessed there is a $300 repossession fee that is not negotiable, as well as being current on your payments and providing full coverage insurance before you pick the vehicle back up. It is all stated clearly in our contract. This repossession was 100% legal and justified. The customer was aware as they initialed and signed documents regarding keeping full coverage insurance and the repossession process. We will NOT be refunding any money to the customer.
