On September 2023 I had the above company installed solar panels on my roof on September. I reported to the company that I had a leak coming from the roof. I had three estimates to repair my roof in all three estimators stated that I need a new roof. I called the installer back and he stated he would remove the panels for $2000 I asked the representative of the company did he inspect my roof he said yes then I asked the representative where the installers licensed and I requested a name of the contractors has yet to do so I asked for pictures of the roof. It took a week or so to collect from him photograph of the roof. from what I saw from the photograph debris left on the roof, which supposedly had been inspected by his company The roofers that gave me the estimates stated that the punisher never been installed. Resolution Sought I want the company to remove the panels while my new roof is being installed and replace the panels without costing me $2000 clearly the panels were installed on a defective roof.

Renewable Energy signed a contract for the installation of a 2KW solar system on July 14th, 2023. At the time the customer contracted with us he did not ask for any roofing services. He has a flat roof so it isn't visible from the ground at the time of contracting. Over the next 7 to 8 weeks we worked on getting the design plans, permits, and interconnection required before scheduling the installation. At no time in the planning stage or the installation did Renewable Energy employees see anything that would require a new roof be installed before the solar panels were installed. This was a 2KW contract, meaning there were 5 solar panels, so it was not encompassing the entire roof. Then in November of this year the customer contacted us and said that he had an issue with his roof leaking and had to have someone come out and do repairs and they told him the roof should have been replaced before the solar was installed. In our opinion this is a bad business practice by a roofer who couldn't possibly know what that roof looked like 1 year or more ago. The leak issue was near a skylight and did not have anything to do with the solar installation. But we sent our roofer out also, who agreed that some areas need extensive repairs and in most cases a roofer would say it is time for a new roof for the homeowner. We also had our roofer review where we installed the panels and there are no leaks coming from our installation and none of the deteriorated or worst looking areas of the roof has to do with our installation. We offered the customer our best price for the uninstall and reinstall of the solar system. We do not feel there was anything else we should have or can do. Please let me know if there are any questions. Andrew Clarke Vice President of Client Relations Renewable Energy Corporation 410-560-9032
