We signed a bid for $30,686 in August 2020 & a change order of $2932 in December 20 for labor & material for kitchen cabinets, island, & countertops, & tile work for three bathrooms. When we signed the bid, we were more than 4-6 months out in being ready for the install as everything needed to be demo'd & new plumbing & electrical installed & the city to approve the building permits; however, they ordered the cabinets & had them delivered in January 2021. We explained on multiple occasions we were still not ready for install as we needed to get the city permit approved first. Once the city permit was finally approved, we contacted them & advised we were a couple weeks away from having the cabinets installed. It took them 2 1/2 months to provide us with an estimate that is more than double the original bid we signed, more than $65,000! We have nothing in writing stating when work was to be comp which stated when the repairs were going to be start and be completed. If so, we would not have signed it because we had no idea how long it was going to be before the house was ready for install. We are trying to work out a deal with them for the cost of the cabinets based on the paperwork they originally provided to us, but they changed what was included in the bid (and removed items that were originally supposed to be included) and charging for premium materials when the original bid was for standard. They committed fraud, unethical business practices and breach of contract. Resolution Sought We have paid $15,500 towards the work but little work has been done by them. 1.) Cancel contract and refund our $15,500 deposit less $500 for work they completed. (The only work they have completed is cut cement slab and installed electrical line for stove). 2). OR refund us $11,012.38 if the cabinets are not returnable (our cost of cabinets is $3987.62 which includes our cost to replace one cabinet for $753 which they delivered broken and won't replace).
