Residents energy showed up to my apartment and asked to see my comed app because they said there was an error. They switched my service to them without my knowledge or consent. This cannot be legal and is definately not ethical. I have requested to switch back to Comed but i have to pay early cancellation fee for a service i never approved. Please advise. Resolution Sought Allow me to change my service back to my original service without any fees and to not scam people like they did to me.

Upon receipt of Mr. Reed’s complaint, Residents energy located and reviewed the documentation associated with the enrollment of Mr. Reed’s Com Ed account with Residents Energy for supply service. From this review, it was found that Mr. Reed’s enrollment occurred on October 24, 2023, as the result of a door to door sales transaction. The enrollment documentation indicates it was completed by account holder John Reed, with all information provided and the documentation signed where required. Also upon receipt of Mr. Reed’s complaint, Residents Energy submitted his account for cancellation as requested. As a result of this cancellation submission, Com Ed assigned the account an effective cancellation date of January 23, 2024, in accordance with their transfer rules. Please be advised that Mr. Reed will not be charged a fee for termination. Residents Energy further researched this matter by launching an investigation with their contracted marketing vendor regarding Mr. Reed’s encounter with the sales agent. Unfortunately, the sales agent in question is no longer employed by Residents Energy’s contracted vendor and, therefore, could not be questioned regarding this matter. Lastly, Residents Energy added Mr. Reed’s address and phone number to their internal no solicitation list in an effort to prevent any future direct solicitation from Residents Energy.
