Maybe have a backup worker if you're going to keep employees that call in sick on a consistent basis.
I hired them to do a bathroom remodel. They said the job would be done in 4 days. Only one worker has shown up in the past 9 days and he has called in sick to work 3 of those days. I had to wait extra days because of the holiday 4th of July weekend. The first two days he barely put in 4 hours work each day, then called in the next two. I was assured the project would be completed in two more days. It was not, so I had to wait Sunday and Monday July 4th no work being done. Then he calls in today, Tuesday. Spoke to his boss after he called in the first two days and his boss practically screamed at me through the phone that he was "doing the best that he can" and that "the man is SICK, what do you want me to do?". Was yelling on the phone, denied that he was yelling, when I all I was asking was what his backup plan was for sending another worker out in his stead since he was so SICK. His only assurance to me was that "he'll be there!" Screaming at me through the phone. I was offered a gift card, due to the "delays", as some type of service recovery. l honestly went with this company because they said they could do it in the least amount of time, 4 DAYS. And it could have been done in that amount of time had the worker put in 8 hours each day and not called in sick, maybe had a helper with him to speed things along. I had plenty of other much cheaper quotes but these other companies were obviously more honest with the time frame to complete the project than Rolox.
