I own a 2016 Hyundai Santa fe Sport. Since Sept/Oct my car has been burning oil. I have had it in several times for consumption testing. It failed. The first failure they approved the cleaning of the pistons. Thus second time of failure,Hyundai is requiring the dealership to run different tests. I took it in last night so they could have it all day for the testing. They are now saying they have to keep it overnight again for an additional test. WTH, they just had it overnight for whatever test that needed to be done. They are dragging their feet. Several models from different years have been recalled/ with engine problems including fires. There was a class action suit that expired Dec 7th 2023 for those who have put out their own money in repairs. The technicality is my car was just over the 100,000 mile warranty. However, I have proof on one of my last oil changes before the 100,000 that it was low on oil. I am stuck until I get a resolution from Hyundai. Can't even try to trade it in at this point. Plus no service loaners. I had to rent a car for the cleaning. Resolution Sought My desired outcome is a service loaner while my vehicle is in for testing and service. If engine needs replacing, I want it done with a service loaner provided. I also want reimbursement for the rental car I had to rent while the pistons were being cleaned. And if possible something extra for this inconvenience.
