I was promised an APR of 4.9 for 3 years and when I got a statement in the mail, the APR was 8.44. When I called the dealership, Craig in Finance basically implied I was an idiot and had misheard and offered zero apologies. He also said if I cancelled my extended warranty, my monthly car payments would decrease and now claims they will not. $7300 is the amount of interest I will owe with the 8.44 interest rate. I feel this was a bait and switch and that I was taken advantage of: Resolution Sought Lower the interest rate and monthly payments

To Whom It May Concern, This client was never promised an APR of 4.9 for three years. When she was presented with purchase options by her salesman, she was presented with a 3-year loan option with an estimated APR of 4.99 and a 60 and 72-month purchase option with higher estimated interest rates. The customer chose the 72-month option because the monthly payment for any shorter-term options would put her over her monthly budget. All of the terms of the loan, as well as the monthly payment, were covered in full and signed off on by the customer. When presented with the option to purchase an extended warranty, the customer asked if that warranty could be canceled for any reason. It was explained clearly that the warranty could be canceled at any time, and if canceled, the refund would be applied to the loan's principal balance. There was never any mention of the monthly payment being lowered back to the pre-warranty payment amount if the warranty was canceled. The customer called a week after purchasing her new vehicle to cancel the warranty. That warranty was canceled immediately, and she was sent paperwork showing proof of cancellation. It certainly was never implied that the customer was an "idiot." The customer claimed she was told the APR would be 3.99 for the first three years of the loan, which would change to a higher interest rate. That is completely false because there are no such loan terms available. This was also explained to the customer when she called to cancel the warranty. In summary, there is zero basis for any part of these complaints. We have been in business for many years and have an excellent track record and standing, especially within the local community. We do not bait and switch anyone here at Rye Subaru.
