S & M Construction complaints

S&M Construction performed low quality work on my property in May 2023. Most of this work was performed as a result of an insurance claim from June 2022. Roof- S&M Construction did not provide ridge cap designed for metal roofing but instead cut strips of metal from full panels to fold over the ridge cap. When I asked about it, the contractor said that they make their own. It is wrinkled and rippled because it is not ridge cap and allows water to get under. The raking corner that terminates the outside edges of the metal roofing is under the metal panels instead of on top. Facia-S&M Construction did not properly cover exposed wood on the front porch, windows, doors, or outside fixtures. The j-trim is not cut straight in many areas but has tremendous amounts of caulk. When I asked about the problem areas of exposed wood, this contractor cut strips of facia and scrapped it in place over the wood. Many area are bent improperly and instead of bending the facia correctly before install, extra screws and staples were used to keep it in place. Gutters-S&M Construction did not replace the downspouts that were removed. The downspouts that were replaced had downspout material screwed to the bottom of the downspouts instead of elbows. Because of the lack of downspouts replaced and not using elbows I had water damage so severe that one of my walls have partially collapsed. Garage-S&M Construction did not measure my garage door. Now I have one that is too big that doesn't open ext Resolution Sought Drainage for garage-S&M Construction routed a downspout from my house, overhead, to my garage. Garage floods when it rains. When asked about all the problems with the gutters, the contractor said that they would not charge me for the guttering but they are still liable for this damage. Front Porch-S&M Construction would not remove the decking from the front porch as asked but instead cover with plywood. We need to keep the remaining funds owed to repair our property.
