DISHONEST PET GROOMER
On March 12,2016 Sarah, the owner of Sassy Styles mobile pet spa came to my home to groom my dog Rafa. She assessed him and said due to matting, he should be shaved. I agreed and she performed the service. Upon completion, I noticed that my dog had red marks on different areas of his body. Sarah stated that this occurs when shaving a matted dog and that the red marks would go away. The next day, my dog was licking the areas which had been red and by the evening was whimpering in pain. I phoned my vet early the following morning and brought Rafa in to see the doctor. Upon examining him, the vet said that my dog had developed an infection due to razor burn. He prescribed 2 antibiotics and put an elizabethan collar on him to prevent further licking. I called Sarah of Sassy Styles when I got home and told her what vet vet said. She sounded genuinely sympathetic and offered to pay for the vet bill. The amount was $290 and I sent her a copy of the bill. 3 weeks went by and I had not received payment. I texted Sarah to see if she ever received my bill. Her reply was she had not picked up her mail as of yet and planned on getting it within the week and would send me a check. I waited another few week and texted her again, inquiring about my reimbursement. She never answered me. I the went onto yelp.com and posted a review. She responded on yelp the same day saying she phoned my vet's office. She said the office told her that my dog's infection was not due to her shaving him. Sarah went on to say that after she spoke with the office, she left me a detailed voicemail explaining she was not responsible for the bill. The next day I phoned my vet (Montvale Animal Hospital, Montvale, N.J.) and spoke to the office manager. No one there ever spoke to a Sarah of Sassy Styles. Nor did she ever leave me a voicemail. My guess is that she did not want to pay the bill and made up an elaborate lie. If anyone is interested in reading the review I wrote and Sarah of Sassy Styles response, go to yelp.com. There will be a picture of my dog posted as well. I want to get this story out there for anyone who is looking to use a mobile pet groomer. Sarah of Sassy Styles is an unethical individual who caused my dog much pain and suffering
