Contracted to do demo for remodel. Contactor was told that the layout was to remain the same in kitchen. He demo all walls in kitchen. He was insisted that his engineer come out and tell me what can be done after telling being told the layout had to stay the same. Then charged for his work. He said it's the only way he could confirm the walls were load bearing. Received a report from his engineer that showed support needed for load bearing wall but there was none. Town inspector came out and confirmed. Paid for work that was never completed. Resolution Sought Would like to receive $5000. In refund.
