Company Response
12/8/2021
First off thank you for this opportunity to respond to Ms. Rademacher's complaint. I personally met with Her and Mike Hartman from Farm Bureau Insurance (adjuster) at her home, shortly after the fire. Here is a brief summary including the amounts of the rebuild of approximately 1050 sq ft home, single story. Complete rebuild main floor, walls, roof shingles, siding windows spray foam insulation walls etc., minimal drywall in the stairway going downstairs and framing two walls, including drywalling those walls for an open walk-in bedroom in the basement. This was not a bedroom that was in the basement originally.
$176,417.65 reconstruction estimate
$ 29,882.00 demo of home, (asbestos demo), septic and fill dirt
$ 1,128.55 board up services
$207,428.20 total
Total money collected from Farm Bureau $202,271.35
customer money for the deck collected $640.00
As you see the money collected does not meet the total for the repairs.
Approximately November 1, 2019, board up and service started, in March of 2020 Covid along with State Mandated construction non-emergency work stoppage. In May 2020 started back to work final inspection was 10/20/2020, at that time, temporary decks and front steps to the dwelling were also approved until spring when the permanent decks were built in the spring of 2021.
Furthermore, every time a concern was called, we have addressed it, yes, we have had to do some drywall repairs, paint touch ups and even had the a/c unit looked at by the HVAC person (a/c outside unit was not affected by fire) during the summer of 2021, recently a plumbing issue was raised, and we sent the plumbing company out $400.dollars later and see attached report from the plumber. We paid the plumbing bill even though the issue was not related to the work completed in her home.
