After buying a car, I received multiple notices in the mail saying that I needed to "activate" my Max care plan that I had bought through Carmax in Texas. Since I had a lot of things going on in my life, I wasn't able to fully check it over but they have zero association with CarMax, but they represent themselves as being part of their program. They say that if you don't send the money, your service won't be activated. After activating my service for $200 I talked to a representative at Carmax and they informed me that it was in fact a scam and they had no association with their company. Thank God, I was able to get my money back, but I can only imagine the issues I would've gone through if I hadn't caught it within the 30 day window. These people are willfully deceitful and there needs to be some form of retribution. I can't be the only one getting screwed over by these criminals. I'm 30 years old and I'm fairly sharp so I can only imagine what would happen to people in a worse situation than myself. Resolution Sought I believe it should be illegal for businesses to send predatory mailers. I would like this company to be punished in someway either by not being allowed to send these letters or to pay some fine to the government. I need a pound of flesh for them wasting a solid 15 hours of my time, but I don't know who to go after or what I even want since I got my money back, but the main thing would be for them to not be able to take advantage of other people.

Hi yes I was given a letter in the mail saying that I haven't contacted this company to activate my vehicle service agreement. I just recently brought this car 2 years ago, so I believed them. I called on the phone and a lady told me I can get vehicle protection for 18 months with a one time payment of 241.48. My check engine light just recently came on so I was very eager about this deal and I paid for the service. However I never received any confirmation email, and there was no way to access my information saying I have an account with them. So I called them to ask about it, and a guy sent me an email just saying all the same things they told me on the phone , I was still not able to access any type of account. Also, on the email he sent me it said I would have to pay 241 every month for 18 months, but when I first called they said it was a one time payment. So I called again to cancel my account and the person over the phone sounded very frustrated and bothered. Also, when you call their number the automated system doesn't express the name of the company. So I can to the assumption that this was a scam. I just want my 241.48 dollars back. Resolution Sought Give me a refund for $241.48.
