In May of 2023, I purchased a OnePlus phone from Metro phone Co. on Kings hwy in Port Charlotte, FL. They had given me a small free tablet because they said my credit was very good. The girl told me that the funds that we're being taken we're going to be toward getting the tablet turned on monthly and that if I decided not to use the tablet that if I just did not bother to pay for the tablet it would simply turn off. The tablet was for free and to not be concerned. February of 2024, I received a phone call from a man with an accent being very rude and telling me that I owed money on an account. He would not tell me who this supposed creditor was and it sounded like a scam. So I told him not to call me again. Nothing he said made sense. *Metro also agreed with me*. I get an email March 16th of 2024 that supposedly there were payments that were being made to pay the phone off. I have bank proof that I paid $113 to get that phone. No recollection of a payment plan. I called and payments were refused, it was sent to outside collections, now telling me I owe $335! When a total of $270 was already paid to them because they also took money out of my account as well. I Never noticed. It was a small amount of $19. Paperwork they sent me shows they have my account number and yet payment stopped coming out on August of 2023? No one could tell me why, they did not call me for 6... months. They ruined my credit, NEVER INFORMED ME of this issue for 6 MONTHS. Resolution Sought They took $113 payment in May for that phone. They said it had nothing to do with the tablet, so all this extra money they're taking has nothing to do with that. They also took seven more consecutive payments out of my account. They showed that at the bottom of the email that they sent me. That's another $140. That's $270 they already received. And now they're telling me another $335 is owed? A very big scam going on with this company. I want my credit cleared and I want to be exonerated.

Well first off they set your payment date the day you file the paperwork not the day you actually make the first payment. They simply refuse to give you more than a 3 day extension. They will not change your due date what so ever. I get told that because my money doesn't come until after the 21st of the month that isn't a good reason to ask for an extension. So every month my phone is shut off for sometimes a week until I can make the payment. They say they don't have any way to change the payment date. This month they started trying to take my payment out on the 19th of the month. They tried to tell me that my payment date wouldn't be the same each month. But the payment is due every 30 days. Resolution Sought Change my payment date. I would like to see them get better ways of helping their customers. By getting a system that they can give extension or be able to change the due dates.
