In August of 2020. I enrolled in Solar Farms New York. Months went by didn't hear anything. i got an automated text message i opted to cancel my membership. so more time went by, didn't hear anything for months and for months. And then i got a bill in March. Paid it and asked for account to be cancelled. they said it was gonna be 3 months. Dec was billed, March, Jan in April and so on. they're still billing me it is July of 2021 every single month since March they have called and i have told them to cancel the account to stop every month. i have even changed my bank debit card so they will stop auto paying. my next step is to shut my electricity off so that way they will leave me alone. I have asked the electric co and they said they cannot do anything on their end solar farms has to remove themselves. Solar farms says its on the electric company to stop it. Resolution Sought I want solar farms ny to discharge my electric account and stop billing me.

As a part of our program, Solar Farms New York members receive a credit on their electric bill equal to the energy generated by their local solar farm. We then issue a bill for 95 of that credit, resulting in a 5 savings for the member each month. Solar Farms New York member Ms. McCann began receiving solar credits on her NYSEG utility bill starting in December 2020 (the initial solar credit was $133.02). Solar Farms New York subsequently issued a bill for $126.37, resulting in a savings of $6.65 for the first month of her membership. On March 8th we received a call from Ms. McCann requesting to cancel her membership. According to notes from the call, the member was dissatisfied with the low savings and did not intend to pay for any future bills from Solar Farms New York. We have not issued any future debits to Ms. McCann's account since the initial charge above in March 2021. When we process a cancelation request from a member, we are required to contact the utility and request the removal of a member from our solar farms. This process can take over 90 days, which results in several months where a member may receive credits their utility bill but WILL NOT receive charges from Solar Farms New York. This exact instance occurred with Ms. McCann: She has been receiving credits on her NYSEG electric bills and we have been debiting her $0 each month since that initial debit. We will continue to NOT BILL Ms. McCann until the utility processes our request to cancel her membership. Please reach out to us for any additional information.
