Customer Complaint

I arranged for a repairman to come out and look at my washing machine on December 6. At that appointment he could not determine if it was my lid latch on my washing machine or the board that needed replacing I paid for a lid latch and arranged for them to come back and install the lid latch on the washing machine, when he left after the first appointment, my washing machine would turn on but it would not drain or rotate. On December 18 he came back with the lid latch installed said lid latch and the washing machine will not turn on at all now it will light up, but will not engage into any cycles, it will not fill with water at all. And with a new lid latch, it still does not engage and lock the lid. I was told the board was out. I requested to be refunded for the lid latch and use that money towards a new board. I was told no that I would need to buy a new board. I was not given a refund on the lid latch, that still does not work. Resolution Sought I would like to be reimbursed for the lid latch, and the hourly rate since nothing was fixed on the second trip out. I understand I owed for the first trip for diagnostic and pay for hourly labor for that one trip, but since the washing machine was not fixed on the second trip, I would like to be reimbursed for the parts and the labor that did not get fixed. It is unprofessional to be charged for a part that does not work on the machine. I paid in advance and ordered the part in good faith.

Company Response

Company states; We went out to the customers home on December 6 and determined the issue could be with the lid lock or the control board. The customer was made aware the washer would need a new lid lock and possibly a new control board. She chose to change out the lid lock, she paid for the diagnosis and lid lock, we ordered the part and once we had it in the office we scheduled the labor to install it on December 18. On December 18, the technician installed the lid lock and noted on the invoice it was not working and would need a board. The customer decided they did not want to move forward on replacing the control board. Once we put a part on a machine we are unable to return it to the distributor, the technician performed the labor of installing the part the customer chose to put on the machine, and the part is still on the machine. I am attaching a copy (upon request) of the invoice the technician wrote up stating it would need a board and the customer declined any further repairs. Once we received the complaint, we tried contacting the customer to have someone go back out to her home and double check the machine for her but have not received a call back. Thanks, Songy's Home and Appliance Repair
