BCA's Summary and Analysis:

Most complainants allege receiving bills or mysterious charges on their phone bills that they know nothing about. After further investigation it appears the charges are for adult entertainment telephone services. Complainants allege the calls were placed while they were not home made by unknown third parties or unauthorized credit card numbers were used to access the service. A few complainants allege the company does not supply the required proof of the debt or payments are not properly credited to accounts. The company responds to most complaints by issuing credits and blocking phone numbers or credit card numbers from further access in their system. In a few cases the company responds by supplying proof of the debt as requested explain the charges have been verified and the consumer is responsible or by indicating that payments are properly credited to accounts.

I was incorrectly charged 147.43. They charged someone named Timothy Lee and that is not even my name. I would like to firmly dispute this charge as this has nothing to do with me. Resolution Sought Release the 147.43 that was incorrectly charged to me.

Spectrum Billing Services (SBS) has received the complaint filed by Mr. Lee to the Business Consumer Alliance (BCA). Since receiving this complaint, SBS reached out directly to Mr. Lee to the email address that he has identified on this BCA complaint requesting the account number that should appear directly on the billing he has received. SBS needs the account number in order to research the background information for this complaint. To date, SBS has not received anything back from Mr. Lee in connection with his providing the account number. If Mr. Lee would prefer to provide this account number information through the BCA complaint process, please request him to provide the account number in his response so that a review of his issues can be addressed.

One call transaction was received August 5, 2023 and the second call transaction was received June 26, 2024. These calls both originated from the telephone number (224) 43x-xx13. The caller on the transactions accessed the services by presenting for payment either a Mastercard credit card ending in four digits 8692 issued through Goldman Sachs Bank on one of the transactions and presenting a Visa credit card ending in 9363 issued through JP Morgan Chase Bank on the other transaction. The charges incurred for each of these transactions was declined by the particular credit card presented for payment by the caller. The charges for both of these call transactions are presently outstanding. -Chase Bank verified that the 9363 credit card belongs to Mr. Lee. Chase Bank confirmed that the telephone number is connected to Mr. Lee as well;-SBS has separately confirmed that the (224) 43x-xx13 telephone number is assigned to Mr. Lee. In Mr. Lee's complaint, he writes that he was incorrectly charged $147.43. This is the charge for the earlier August 2023 transaction and not the more recent one. The more recent charge on June 26, 2024 incurred a $59.15 charge.

I keep getting bills in the mail from these people. When I call Spectrum, my account is up to date. This is obviously some kind of scam. Resolution Sought Stop sending me bogus bills.
