We recently had SES install a solar system in our home. Shortly after the install we began having short circuit tripping issues with running appliances like our dishwasher off of the same circuit breaker box. The frequency of the power tripping increased as time passed. We reached out to SES to come and take a look since we were within our warranty window. An SES technician came out on Feb 18th 2022 and determined that we needed a new breaker which we got installed separately by another company. Fast forward about a month later and we get a bill for $395.00 from SES for the service call on 2/18. When we scheduled this appointment prior to the technician coming out and even on the day of the visit, no where verbally or in writing, were we informed that there would be a $395.00 charge for the service. So, I reached out via multiple phone calls to SES and they did not answer. So, I finally decided to e-mail them and explain my frustration to which they acknowledged their failure to inform me of the charge prior to the tech coming out. Had I been made aware of the $395 charge just for someone to come out and diagnose the issue, I would have not agreed to the service call or made other arrangements. I felt deceived by this practice on SES's part. Normally the consumer is informed of any fees prior to a service to which they get to decide whether or not to proceed. Even after expressing my grievances, they insisted I pay. So much for empathy and customer service. Please help. Resolution Sought SES should waive the charge altogether and be upfront with any fees for future service work when dealing with us or any other consumer out there.
