On August 17th, at approximately 9:30 a.m., my husband, my six-year-old son, and I visited the Starbucks location inside Hershey Park. What should have been a simple and routine experience turned into an unnecessarily hostile and upsetting situation, both for myself and, most importantly, for my young child who had to witness it. When placing our order, the barista—who appeared to be new—was extremely rude from the start. I requested a vanilla cake pop, at which point she cut me off and told me, in a dismissive tone, "We are all out." I then asked if they had any other options, as she had already mentioned they were also out of cream cheese, caramel, and ham and cheese croissants. Her response was not only unhelpful but blatantly disrespectful: with a snarky attitude, she said, "Starbucks never served a vanilla cake pop, it's called a birthday cake pop." I calmly told her she should not speak to customers in that manner, but instead of correcting her behavior, she continued with the same disrespectful attitude. At that point, I requested to speak with a manager. When the manager came out, the situation escalated further. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she told me—in front of my six-year-old son—that they would be refunding me and refusing to serve us altogether. This was shocking and humiliating. At no point were we rude, raised our voices, or used inappropriate language. All I did was ask for basic courtesy and a food item my son could eat. Resolution Sought Refund , written apology, and corrective action against the staff
