I originally paid for a 6 month policy from 6/9/2023 thru 12/9/2023. I was informed by Steadily that by law I was still covered thru the end of December (even though I only paid thru 12/9). My property was under contract so I didn't pay for extended coverage. On January 5, 2024 I received an email stating that my policy was canceled for non-payment and that the property is now without coverage. I was totally aware of no coverage because I only paid for 6 months! Well unfortunately the contract didn't go through so I called Steadily 1/17/2024 and requested coverage for the same property beginning 1/17/2024. I was told my premium for 6 months would be $927.00 (in which I paid). I sold the property on 1/31/2024 so I cancelled the policy on 1/31/2024. I received a letter indicating my refund would be $641.77. I was charged $285.23 for 14 days. I. called for an explanation, I was informed I was charged all the way back to 12/9/2023. How can this company charge me for services that were CANCELLED. My policy should have started 1/17/2024 (the day I paid for coverage). If I would have filled a claim between the dates 1/5/2024 thru 1/17/2024, my claim would have been denied for cancellation of non-payment. It's unethical for this company to charge me for services I didn't have nor did I agree to. Resolution Sought I've not received a refund for the $641.77 yet! I would like a full refund for the headache. If not a full refund please figure out what my charges are for 14 days and issue the remaining balance as a refund as well.
