I started step one credit to try to improve my credit, When I got involved with them I had A 552 credit report And since dealing with them my Credit score has gone down to 0! They told me they could refund me $79.99 And I told them that my debit card was no longer going to be valid because TCF is being changed to Huntington in Michigan And could I give them my new account information call, he told me that that there is no way for him to Take new applicant account information and that my money will go to TCF and then they will transfer it to Huntington. When I talk to the lady at the bank she said there's no way that they could possibly do that Karma so I'm out of money and they destroyed my credit as well and I was trying to buy a home. Now when I call them I wait on hold and then get hung up on and that never happened when I was sending them money! Resolution Sought I would like for them to give me a refund and something for damages.

To Whom it may Concern, Ms. White set up her account with Step 1 Credit on 7/20. Step 1 Credit does all the work before we charge according to the FCRA. The Clients payment was set up for 8/13 for $79.95 and processed. We also gave her a free month in Sept because she called in and was worried that she wouldn't see any results before her next payment. We were working on her Trans Union report that had four inaccurate / unverifiable items on that report 2 collections and 2 hard inquiries . In that short time we had removed one of the collections which is fantastic results that anyone would be happy about but she also added another hard inquiry . Client then called in to cancel and wanted a refund because we made her score zero, which is impossible for us to do. We don't make scores go down. Step 1 Credit doesn't control scores in any way. Meaning we either dispute an inaccurate / unverifiable item or not... Thats it. After explaining this to the client in many ways many times, She still thinks we made her score drop to zero. Step 1 Credit understands and cares about their clients and gave her a full refund of $79.95 on the only card we had. Now if she closed her bank or the bank moved or switched accounts or locations that is a banking/client issue not Step 1 Credit's. Step 1 Credit has gone above and beyond and taken all the appropriate steps to work with the client. We have the refund transaction ID and will provide that to her bank if they need it to track down the refund for her. We wish her well Sincerely, Step 1 Credit Customer Service Relations
