We've been trying to cancel our timeshare with Capital Vacations for months, and it's been nothing but a mess. It's easier and cheaper for us to just book vacations on our own, so we don't see any reason to keep this timeshare. But getting it canceled has been a big hassle. We've spoken to several representatives since the beginning of the year (2024), and no one seems to help. One bad experience happened during our trip from March 30 to April 6, 2024, at the Country Club Villas in Myrtle Beach, SC. We were forced to go to what was supposed to be a 90-minute presentation to learn how to use our plan and not pay maintenance fees. They also told us it would help us get better hotel rates than Expedia.com, which sounded important since Dereco travels a lot with his boxing team. That "90-minute" presentation ended up lasting 4 hours. It was long, tiring, and didn't really answer our questions. They gave us a $150 Visa gift card for sitting through it, but that doesn't make up for the time we lost and the fake promises they gave us. They told us we could sell our "Go Weeks" whenever we wanted and that we had unlimited ones, but they never showed us how to do it. All we've gotten are expensive costs, broken promises, and vacations that aren't even that good. Capital Vacations has not lived up to what they told us when we bought this. We're stuck paying for trips that don't feel worth it, and we get no real help when we reach out. We're frustrated and tired of this whole thing. Resolution Sought Capital Vacations, do the right thing and fix this! Stop giving us the runaround and help us cancel what isn't working.

I am submitting a complaint regarding Capital Vacations' refusal to provide a fair and reasonable resolution for canceling my timeshare. I have made numerous attempts to communicate with their representatives, speaking with various departments over the phone, but I have yet to receive any meaningful assistance or reasonable solutions that could help me resolve this matter. Capital Vacations has repeatedly presented me with unreasonable options for cancellation, most notably demanding an exorbitant $10,000 payment to end my contract. This is a completely unaffordable amount for my family, as I have made clear to them during our discussions. Despite my attempts to negotiate or find alternative solutions, Capital Vacations has been unwilling to work with me, leaving us feeling trapped and overwhelmed. Out of desperation, we even sought assistance from the Attorney General's office to bring attention to the situation. When the issue was raised, Capital Vacations insisted they had done nothing wrong and refused to acknowledge our concerns. This response has only added to my mounting frustration and disappointment with their lack of accountability. We have owned this timeshare for almost twenty years, and during that time, we have only been able to use it three times. The original promises made to us during the sales process have not been fulfilled, and it has never been worth the financial burden it has placed on our family. We feel misled and taken advantage of by a system tha Resolution Sought A cancellation of our Account with Capital Vacations.
