CRI measures the company's customer satisfaction abilities through BCA’s complaint mediation process.

A variety of factors are considered when calculating CRI. This includes how quickly a company responds to complaints, the number of complaints against a company, whether the company addressed complaint allegations, and the outcome of the complaints. CRI is just a subset of the overall rating for the company. Consumers are encouraged to take into consideration the company's CRI, their overall BCA letter rating and other relevant information about the company so they can make a well-informed purchasing decision.

BCA's Summary and Analysis:

Some complainants allege they are advised they have won a trip to Hawaii on the condition that they agree to purchase suntan products offered by the company. After purchasing products to assure eligibility they discover the vouchers are not free and the company fails to deliver their products. Some people complain the "free tickets" have too many restrictions on scheduling making them difficult to use. Most complainants allege they are unable to contact the company to request refunds or credits. One complainant reported the company hired four girls for a convention show in Florida but has failed to compensate the girls the agreed upon amount of $200 per day. The models received no compensation for their work.~~The company responded in a few cases by shipping orders or advising our office the complainant had been contacted and the problem resolved. Several complainants were not satisfied with the company's response and disputed that they had been contacted or provided refunds. Other complaints remain unanswered. Promotional or incentive offers for free vacations should not require you to make a purchase in order to be eligible to receive and use the offer. If you have won something there should be no costs involved. Asking you to purchase products as a condition of eligibility is a violation of state and federal law.
