We have completed our investigation into Ms. Stevens' complaint and were able to determine that her Ambetter ACA plan and separate SureMed Association Membership were both cancelled. The Ambetter ACA plan was cancelled on June 15, 2021. Unfortunately, independent agent William Millman was ill during this period resulting in several hospital trips and an inability to work during this time. When Ms. Stevens attempted to contact the independent agent, her calls would have been directed to voicemail or she could have remained on the line and would have been redirected for further assistance. Our records indicate Ms. Stevens did not remain on the phone line to be transferred to a new agent. Our records also indicate Ms. Stevens was never hung up on. On June 18, 2021, when independent agent William Millman was able to respond to Ms. Stevens communications, he informed Ms. Stevens that her Ambetter ACA plan and separate SureMed Association Membership were both cancelled. Ms. Stevens contacted SureMed directly on June 16, 2021, to cancel her SureMed Association Membership and again on June 17, 2021 requesting a cancellation of the membership which was then subsequently cancelled.
