Company Response

I was hired by Ms. Milfort to rewire her home that had a fire in the kitchen. I had originally thought that the only thing to rewire was the kitchen, but Ms. Milfort wanted the entire first floor rewired. After I contacted Howard County Electrical Department, they informed me that the entire home needed to be rewired, basement and the first floor. I explained to Ms. Milford and so we proceeded with the work.
Unaware of what was going on with the job when I first started my work but after a few days I found out that Ms. Milfort had fired the first builder who did all the demo work and some carpenter work. Then I found out she also fired the first plumber who started work at her home.
Ms. Milfort had a very serious problem; she works full time at PNC bank here in Baltimore and at the same time she tried to act as the General Contractor on this project. She was very rarely on the site, only short visits, if you had question and tried calling her, most of the time she couldn't take the call because she was working at the bank. If a person wants to be the General Contractor over seeing any job, that person needs to be there every day that the work is going on.
When she hired the new builder to do all the carpenter work, he also had many problems with her. Example, Ms. Milfort purchased new patio sliding doors to go out on her rear deck. The new builder installed them, after the installation of the new sliding doors she did not like the doors, the doors She Purchased. But here where it gets really interesting, she had the builder install four more sets of sliding doors before she was finally satisfied. This is the true pure example of a person, Ms. Milfort, who does not know anything about construction, about codes, rules & procedures. She actually made a fool of herself and everyone on the job was laughing behind her back.
After she fired the first plumber, I brought in one of my plumbers who I work with on a regular basis. She made sexual advances to him, even sent explicit text messages to him while he was home one night and his wife seen those messages. So that plumber quit the job. She had no consideration for others, she always was making changes, adding extra work to be done and still expected the work to be done in the same time frame, she was never satisfied. When I got the entire home completely wired, had my inspection by the Howard County Electrical Inspection department and I PASSED my inspection and we have the proof.
When done, I specifically told her that once all the walls were covered, everything was painted, everything finished I would come back to install the switches, lights & receptacles. A few weeks later she called me to come back everything is ready. At that time, I was working on another project and I told her I would be there in about four days. But that was Not good enough for her, she wanted me there within 2 days and I told her that's not going to happen. I just cannot walk away from a job that was already in progress, had to complete it then return to her job. So, Ms. Milfort Fired me.
We have been in business for 38 years and we are very well-known all over Baltimore & the surrounding counties. Our work is superior to others and we Never Fail an inspection. Ms. Milfort is the worst person anyone could ever work for or with. I personally feel she should seek medical help and never try to do two jobs at the same time especially with No Construction experience.
