In 2016 we were looking into borrowing on our house. We were contacted by Synergy about a reverse mortgage. After long discussions and alot of papers they made it seem to good to pass up. Our home appraisal was 108000 we had to get survey, make repairs and after months of back and forth we finally got to closing..we walked away with 8000.00!! I was robbed. So this year we decided to sale our house for medical reasons and again at closing we paid ( Longbridge financial had taken over the loan) 28000 more for nothing. I feel these reverse mortgages company take advantage of the elderly, I am 68 my husband 73 we don't understand all the details and I thought we were going to have our nest egg!! I want my money back from the sale of my home and I want it taken as far as possible that this is robbery on the elderly. If we had stayed in the house and died 10 yrs from now my family would have had to pay longbridge another 100000!! It is wrong. Resolution Sought I want the money from the sale of my home refunded and make sure it never happens again. I think we should go public and just see how many elderly people have been taken advantage of by a reverse mortgage.
