I am filing this complaint against Tesla Finance for misrepresenting my loan's APR and unfairly delaying the application of additional principal payments. I took out a loan with Tesla at an APR of 7.5, as stated in my contract. In an effort to reduce my loan balance and interest costs, I made an additional principal payment of $19,409.77. However, I was later informed that Tesla will not apply this payment to my loan until June 1, 2026—18 months later. This policy is not standard in the lending industry and was never clearly disclosed before I made the payment. More importantly, Tesla's refusal to apply my extra principal payment immediately increases the actual cost of my loan, meaning my real APR is higher than the 7.5 stated in my contract. This practice is both misleading and financially damaging to borrowers for the following reasons: • By holding my extra payment for 18 months, Tesla is forcing me to pay more interest than a standard 7.5 APR loan should require. • The APR of 7.5 is false in practice, because the true borrowing cost is higher due to Tesla's delay in applying principal payments. • This policy benefits Tesla at the borrower's expense and contradicts standard lending principles where extra principal payments should immediately reduce the balance and interest charges. Any help would be appreciated Resolution Sought I request that Tesla immediately apply my extra principal payment or issue a full refund of my payment.

Tesla referral awards program - I had 1,500 referral credits that "expires September 20, 2024. I tried to redeem them yesterday on Sep 20 and was told they expired. Their claim is the system doesn't allow them to do anything. And they also claim that it means I needed to use it as last day on Sep 19. Quite frustrating and not clear at all. I have used many sites and this is the first time I have been told this actually expired or I could use it up to the day before the expiration date. Resolution Sought Reinstate my referral credits of 1,500 worth $150.
