Customer Complaint

We purchased a 2014 Dodge Dart from Teutopolis auto sales on April 27th 2022 and it is currently November 11th 2022 and the vehicle has been in the shop for numerous issues not starting or overheating and has been repaired 7-8 times. At this point we understand that this car is a lemon and that is was far from "good to go" the day we bought it. This dealership has been extremely dishonest and rude to us. At this point they are basically telling us they don't want to see us again and to take it somewhere else because there is nothing they can do. We asked them if they would at least fix everything that was wrong with it. OR trade this car in for another one of there's on the lot but they refuse to work with us. We mentioned if they were just going to refuse helping us that we would have to contact the better business bureau and see if they could help us come to an agreement and they got very defensive saying we had no grounds to do that and that they hadn't broken any laws so we were completely ridiculous for even mentioning it. Resolution Sought I would love to get our money back seeing as we just had a baby and winter is coming up we can't risk being stranded in a snow storm with a young baby but I'm not sure that is an option at this point so I would like them to come to an agreement with us to either completely strip the car down and find every single thing wrong with it, or in alternative break even on this sale and help us out by giving us the opportunity to trade for a more reliable car on there lot.

This is very interesting. I personally offered to trade the car. It is a used car with around 100k. Korey is currently in a loaner car of ours as I just received a speeding notification from our GPS tracking system 76+mph. We fixed an issue at no cost shortly after purchase. We have helped them out a few other times since . Sorry there is cost of owning a vehicle that is 10 years old with about 100k miles.

Customer Rebuttal

This business simply knows they are in the wrong and cannot seem to admit to their wrong doing. They say they take pride In helping there customers and doing the right thing when in reality it is the complete opposite. They are in to do whatever they can to make that sale, not whatever they can to get someone a reliable car. The dart had approximately 82,000 miles when we bought it and we have put 8-10 thousand on it. It has been out of service for at least 3 weeks since we have owned it and we have only had it since the end of april. Seeing as highway speed limits are 70 mph I don’t think 76 mph is as drastic as you make it sound and is completely irrelevant. Me and my wife are hesitant to trade the car because of the high mileage and lack of inventory that Teutopolis has. The owner Phil did offer us a decent trade value for the car but we couldn’t find a car on there lot that fit that budget and didn’t have serious problems. At our last visit they told us maybe we should take the car to another shop if we didn’t trust their mechanics. As if to politely say take your problems somewhere else. They have given us an altimatum to either keep fixing the car or deal with it.
