Customer Complaint

I called to make an appointment to freeze my eggs. The receptionist asked if I would be self pay or if I would like to check to see if they take my insurance. I told her my insurance was Medicare and the woman refused to schedule me an appointment and told me Texas Fertility Center has a policy of NOT accepting people with disabilities. She said this has come up many times before and the doctors all refuse to see patients getting government benefits because they don't believe they are worthy of having children. I reported them to the Medical Board and will be filing a discrimination lawsuit. I begged for help saying my egg reserve was very low and my hormone levels are very off- at menopaused levels and I am in my 20's and the receptionist was cold, discriminatory, did not offer anywhere to get help, told me I don't deserve children and hung up on me. I was treated like I wasn't even human by this practice. Resolution Sought Allow me to book an appointment as a self pay patient and apologize for the heartbreaking words that their receptionist said to me on the phone. Those words have caused me emotional suffering.

Company states; We are bound by HIPAA rules & regulations, so are limited in our response. Texas Fertility Center is not a Medicare Provider. For this reason, we are not allowed to see anyone with Medicare even as private pay. This is a Medicare rule.
