My vehicle was stolen,i was working out of state, the investigator put the claim on hold till i returned to California..during this time away, i received monthly bills, that i continued to pay throughout my absence. I did not know, nor was i informed that i actually didn't have to continue paying, the insurance policy was on hold from my absence, , my car was gone, so there's nothing to insure the claim is on hold. Now that i know this, i asked for my overpaid money, not be returned, just be ,APPLIED TOWARDS THE POLICY PRINCIPLE. I suggested this because a man i work for has fallen sick, ( a primary source of my income has closed down I'm asking this so that my full coverage ,250 deductible, with 4 days of rental car if needed will continue to be paid, and i would remain covered. calling customer service sends me to two supervisors that tell me no, cant be done, i should have cancelled my policy and not paid it I explained i didn't know that, I wasn't informed that, why didn't they tell me that? if it wasn't necessary, why did i continue getting a bill each month? I asked them to send me the text that i can or could read regarding this type of thing. ,the guide to figure out the different reasons to pay or not pay, giving this type of information to me. I received nothing.

Resolution Sought
Restore my coverage that they cancelled for non payment, use the money that id paid in towards this principal, change their policy towards addressing policy that doesn't make any sense, cancelling a policy that is on hold never crossed my mind, its still in effect, . hearing from the company that payments could be put on hold ,pending its outcome, for instance, should come from them. i did not make a donation to the Hartford by paying a bill that shouldn't have been sent out in the first place.
