On February 6th I went to this UPS location in Overland Park KS to mail knives to get repaired. We had already electric taped them. The employee instructed us to purchase the envelope package as it should be good enough. Our mistake was declining insurance not being relied the cost was only 4 dollars. A week and a half went by without update so I had to contact the ups store. This is when I was told the items went missing from the ups store to the hub. When asked how come we didn't get notified the employee said they received well over 500 packages a day and I shouldn't expect that. He continued to chuckle as I pointed out the issue. We has to wait until Feb 20th for the owner to come in to talk. He would only resolve by paying us 100 and said this happens all the time. We could sue him but he won't accommodate to us. I read reviews that this store tends to blame the customers and packages disappears. Granted I didn't buy insurance but this clearly was lost within their handling. Also customer service was horrible kept twisting the events so its on us when clearly we followed their instructions on packaging. Company states; We have already provided an explanation on how UPS handled the claims. Attached (upon request) is the copy of the Signed Agreement between customer and the UPS Store. The Claim has already been settled and paid.

When we chose that ups we had a box for the knives. The employee directed us to an envelope package and told it would be good for packaging. I did reach out to corporate to complain and they automatically sent us the minimum payment. Which I did not agree to. I still haven't deposited the check. Corporate told me to reach back out to see an update on my case but i can't reach anybody when I called. I wanted to pursue this issue further because I felt that the store did not take ownership of their wrong. Wanting to only pay the minimum to us. I never agreed to settle for that amount.

Please refer to the customer signed documents that clearly declined additional declared value for the item before shipping this item. It is like you do not buy a coverage for the value of the item while shipping the item, UPS only covers for $100 for the value of the item incase the package was lost or damaged. This is implied to every single packages for every UPS Store in the United States. I have already provided all the documentation regarding this issue.
