I have recently filed for financial relief. I was told to ignore calls from my creditors. Which I have done. The complaint is that they are calling relatives outside my references, and discussing my financial situation with them. I feel that this is harassment and my finances should not be mentioned with any one but myself. I have offered them the phone number to verify my situation, and they have refused it. Resolution Sought Quit discussing my business with anyone but myself, and not reach outside the references I have provided.

On August 31, 2024, we received a request from you pertaining to customer's account with us. We take seriously the protection of our customer's nonpublic personal informaiton. Based on the information provided, we are unable to confirm that you have been authorized to access information pertaining to this customer's account. You have not provided a power of attorney that is valid under Texas law. We also note that Toledo Finance Corp. is an original creditor that extends closed-end credit pursuant to promissory notes with scheduled installment payments. Toledo Finance Corp. is not a debt collector within the meaning of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)) and, therefore, is not subject to the debt validation requirements of the FDCPA. We want to make clear that Toledo Finance Corp. does not negotiate for or accept payment of less than the full scheduled installment or balance due on any account. Unless contacted by the customer or provided a valid authorization to disclose information, we are ceasing communication with the customer regarding this account. Toledo Finance Corp. may report information about the accout to credit bureaus, including late payments, missed payments, delinquent status, or other defaults.
