Customer Complaint

I had a 220 volt line installed in my house for a clothes dryer. It cost over 500.00. After I paid and they left I noticed the outlet installed was for a four prong plug. I didn't know they made four prong dryer plugs as I've only had 3 prong dryers. The electrician didn't ask either although he knows this. The work was useless to me as I still couldn't use my dryer. I called him back and told him I needed a three plug not a four plug. The worker came back out, spent five minutes and installed the correct plug. Later that day I got an email bill from top line for 85 dollars. I called the owner and he told me the worker had to drive to Lowe's to get the plug and there is an 85 dollar trip charge. For them doing the wrong job and not having the right part. Resolution Sought Refund my money.

Company Response

Company states: This customer called and wanted a dryer plug installed. Due to new code we install four wire plug. We installed a working dryer plug with no appliance onsite. The appliances that were purchased required a three wire plug. I agreed to come out and swap it however, he was charged a trip charge to come back out. He agreed to pay and paid us, but now he wants his money back the work we did was in working order it just did not match the appliance he purchased. It was no fault of ours or his it was just a miscommunication.

Customer Rebuttal

The appliance was not just purchased but was in storage. It was purchased in 2019 less than two years earlier. The company knows there are three and four plug dryers and being an electrician knows this. If they needed to install a four plug should have inquired. That's why professionals are called as they supposedly or should know the changing regulations. That should have been their first question instead of guessing at what work needed to be done. The owner has himself spread too thin doing too many things in the community and not an expert in neither leaving those that deal with him holding the bag and fattening his pockets
